Mid Life Crisis-Does it really exist?

I wanted to talk to you today about the mid-life crisis. Does it really exist?

There is the stereotypical idea that people going through a mid-life crisis buy themselves a new sports car, lose weight, get a makeover and a partner half their age! This might be true for a minority of people, but I think that there is a stage in everyone’s life when we start to question our purposeĀ and whether we are doing what we are supposed to do.

There is a feeling that life is too short and sometimes a state of depression follows when we realise that we are half way through our lives and we haven’t achieved everything we had hoped to achieve. Does this sound familiar?

I don’t think I’ve been having a mid-life crises, as such, but since I have been working in the health care sector, the nature of it makes me question these sorts of issues. I work with people who are mentally ill and some are in care homes. There are some who were perfectly happy people, planning for their retirement and working in fulfilling careers when they suddenly became ill. This has depressed me a bit as we never know what is around the corner.

I created this website, though, because I know the power of the mind in creating our reality and the benefits of positive thinking and meditation for keeping us healthy mentally. I am therefore going to continue working on my mindset strategies on a personal level and sharing these with you all so you too can keep healthy and happy as you overcome your mid-life crisis!

I know that there are some mental illnesses that any amount of positive thinking can’t prevent or cure; however, if you are lucky enough to be reading and understanding this then you are lucky enough to create your perfect life using the power of the mind. I am grateful for this everyday and I hope you will come to realise how lucky you are to beĀ able to use the internet and read and understand the articles you come across.

If you are going through a mid-life crisis, try to cultivate a positive mindset and focus on all the good things you have in your life. There must be something if you are half-way through your life already!

If you really can’t think of anything then this is the perfect opportunity to create the life you want. What is it that you wish you had done? What do you regret not doing? If everything was taken away from you tomorrow what would you miss?

Use this time to focus on those things you can do to improve your life and then set yourself some small goals. Working towards goals will help take your mind off the negative and move you towards a more positive place.

I also wanted to update you on what I have been up to lately. I have not been updating this blog as often as I want to as I have been working on some programs for you. I have almost finished my first couple of products. I will be uploading them once they are edited and packaged for you.
