Aura Colours and What They Mean for You.

What is an aura?

Everyone has an aura. It is an energetic field, called the auric field and it can change depending on how healthy, happy and spiritually developed a person is. The size can change and so can the colours. If you know anything about colour therapy, then you will know that all colours vibrate at different levels and some of them relate to the other energy centres in a physical body – the chakras – which affects how balanced and healthy they are.

Not everyone can see auras and I will be writing further posts on how you can do this. Some people use special cameras which claim to be able to photograph the auric field, but this has not been proven.

The best way to work with auras is to do it intuitively. You can do this by trusting your first impression when meeting someone, checking out what mood they are in or looking at their health. Some people can feel vibrations in the aura by running their hands over the body or some people prefer to use a pendulum, which can show up gaps in the aura or weaker parts if it starts to behave differently or start swinging in certain areas.

Common Aura Colours and their Meanings

Black:

This is a confusing colour and it often gets a bad name – there is nothing wrong with black in someone’s aura. Black generally means one is shielding oneself from outside energies, as it is a protective colour, as it doesn’t draw attention to itself. This can also someone is hiding something or keeping secrets. A black auric ring often indicates some form of abuse, adults who have not dealt with early abuse will carry this black ring till they are healed.

Blue:

This comes in different shades. Gifted people have shades of blue in their aura. Intuitive people will show pale blue coloration within the purple bursting out like rays of sunshine, emanating from the heart outwards. A deeper blue can indicate loneliness. A very deep blue shows devotion, honesty and good judgment whereas muddier shades of blue indicate a domineering person or a tendency towards depression.

Brown:

This colour can indicate growth in a person, as it represents soil and new life. Seen around the head and with other colours emanating in combination, it indicates a person who is developing mentally, intuitively and organizing within. Brown by itself can indicate lack of energy, or one who has become “stagnant”. It can also mean someone who is reliable and down to earth, who loves nature.

Gold:

Indicates lots of spiritual energy, in tune with oneself. Muddy gold means one has not really come to terms with one’s higher levels.

Yellow:

Usually seen around a thinker, an analytical person. Could indicate a “balanced” person. Intelligent people show this colour around their heads. It can also indicate depression or someone who is naturally bright and cheerful, depending on the brightness of the colour, with a faint, muddy yellow showing hints of depression.

Green:

A green aura shows someone who is sympathetic to others, dependable and has healing abilities. Muddier shade could indicate jealousy- like “green with envy”. This person loves nature and is naturally calm and it is often seen in doctors and nurses or people in the caring profession.

Grey:

A grey aura can indicate intuition and creativity. Silvery grey shows femininity while darker grey can mean secretiveness or physical imbalance. It can also mean somebody who is balanced and content with themselves; someone who is happy to show their authentic self without any airs, graces or pretense.

Orange:

A bright orange aura means the person is growing emotionally and paranormally. A dull shade means a person is unsure how to accept this growth. Muddy orange shows in a person with too much pride. It can also mean someone overwhelmed with emotions or someone who is very empathetic. It can signify someone who is very creative but may have issues with showing their creative or sexual energy if the colour is dull or muddy. The person will usually be very energetic or may be wound up with too much energy or repressed urges.

Pink:

This is one of my favourite aura colours and signifies love, compassion and honesty. It also depicts the quieter side of an artistic and creative person. Dark pink may indicate immaturity or changes with one’s love life. Dull pink, however, watch out; Someone could be lying.

Purple:

This aura colour is common in very spiritual or noble people. The colour of intuition, a deeper purple hue shows a strong- willed and passionate person. It can also reflect intense erotic imagination and being over-bearing.

Red:

This aura colour is another one that people think is bad as it can be a colour of love or hate – the colour of blood shows the person has strong emotions and a lot of energy. An intense red color, however, may indicate a person ready to fly off the handle.
